Hidden Dragon Karate I

My 7 and 5 year old sons and I have taken karate classes at Hidden Dragon for 1 year. I could not have asked for a more amazing experience for all of us. My oldest son is becoming more mind-body connected, and my younger son is gaining confidence every day. I am amazed at the patience Sensei Rod and all the instructors have with the children. There is an amazing balance of focus, discipline, structure and humor. As for myself, I have found my experience to be an amazing journey which I plan to continue for years to come. If you have ever considered taking karate or sending your child, Hidden Dragon is phenomenal. I strongly recommend you visit the dojo to see what an amazing place it is.

My daughter Jackie was shy, quiet and not at all into sports. I convinced her to try Karate with her friend Chelsea. To my suprise she is no longer shy, never mind quiet and has become more flexible, agile and strong in one short year of Karate. Her confidence level is through the roof. Everyone at this facility is wonderful and encouraging to all the kids. As for me, I have taken the self-defense course that is offered three times to date and plan on taking it again. Every woman should take this course at least once.

Two of my sons attend this facility, one being the youngest student at age 3 and they absolutely love it. I love it also because I feel that it has helped my children learn discipline and respect. They are both very intimidated by Sensei so if they act up, I can let them know that Sensei would not be proud of that behavior and for the most part, it works like a charm. I have met some really nice people since we joined about 5 or 6 months ago. All the instructors and so nice and very professional. We are very happy that we joined! We can't wait for next year so that our youngest son can join.

Hidden Dragon Karate has been a wonderful school for my children (ages 12 and 10). The instructors work so well with the students and my children have learned so much from them! Yes, they learn how to "perform" the moves, but they also learn why they do what they do. They have confidence that if necessary they can protect themselves but that they can take certain steps to avoid bad situations. I myself am not a "karate student" but I am involved in the Women's Self-Defense program...I have taken 5 or 6 of the sessions and continue to learn new ways to keep myself safe! Thank you to Sensei Rod who has made such a great impact on my families lives and to all of the sempis and instructors within the entire Hidden Dragon Family!

My 6 yr old step-son Paxton, joined Hidden Dragon at the end of 2007, for two reasons; 1, to give him a sense of discipline, which he lacked at both school and home, and 2, to bring him and I closer. To have something we can talk about and practice together. Paxton is doing much better at home and school, and is excelling very well in Karate. Sensei Rod and staff are great and patient with the kids and show a sense of caring. Sometimes Sensei will have a discussion with the kids, about real life issues such as benefits of eating healthy, stranger danger, and of the course the homework rules. My hat goes off to the staff at Hidden Dragon Karate, Thanks for all you do!
