Located in Renton Washington, between Seattle and Bellevue, we are a small school specializing in close-range martial arts.
The Edmonds Academy teaches two distinct styles of fighting from the Southeast Asian archipelagos islands: Filipino Kali, and Indonesian Pentjak Silat. Both combat systems taught at the academy address various weapons, ranges and empty hand fighting, as well as the dexterity and tactile sensitivity needed for each element.
The curriculum taught at the academy draws from several different styles and instructors at once, in some cases, the entire system is presented (Doce Pares, Figure Eight, Kadena de Mano). Others, it's simply the principle of the technique (Crossada, Sinawalli). This philosophy demands an open mind, as no one style has "Everything", and there is always room to grow and improve.
We welcome all levels & styles who are interested in training with us. Please visit the Academy website for class schedule and tuition, as well as general information about the school.
