Women’s Self-Defense & Empowerment Seminar

In this seminar you will learn:
* Prevention techniques to increase body awareness and awareness of your environment
* Skills for self-defense including practice exercises to develop muscle memory
* Visualization and breathwork to increase focus and relaxation
We will also discuss:
* How to feel unafraid when walking to your car in a parking lot as you leave your office or the shopping mall.
* How to better protect your children
* How to feel unafraid when home alone
About Joel A. Levy, M.Ed.: Joel is a nationally known and certified martial arts professional and self-defense expert. He is a recognized grand master and an inducted member of the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He has an extensive background in teaching, mentoring and coaching. Joel is the executive director of the Family Martial Arts Academy (safekarate.com) in HIghland Park, NJ.
About Barbara Gelfand, LCSW: Barbara is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy. Her expertise includes treatment of depression, anxiety, school problems, adoption, eating disorders, diabetes and chronic illness. Barbara’s work is informed by her personal practice of yoga, meditation and martial arts training. She has a private practice in Highland Park, NJ.
Joel and Barbara bring their unique experience to allow for all teaching demonstrations to be done in a safe, supportive and sensitive manner.
